The following table is a combination of information merged from a number of sources including:

7)       Lists of synonyms and names accepted for registration sent to me by Julian Shaw - the International Orchid Registrar.  There is a list for naturally occurring genus names, a second list for hybrid names, and a third list of natural genera component names of hybrid genera.  They can be found at http://los.lon.imag.net/MiscFile.asp

8)       A list of RBG Kew - orchid synonyms which used to be found at http://www.rbgkew.org.uk/data/monocots/orchid_synonyms.pdf but is no longer there.

The Acc/Syn column indicates the status of the name according to the various lists as follows:

1)       Acc(JS) - the listings from Julian Shaw indicate the name is Accepted for registration

2)       Syn(JS) - indicates the lists from Julian Shaw show the name as a synonym for another genus or note accepted for registration for some other reason

3)       Syn(RK) - indicates the list from RBG Kew shows the name is a synonym for another genus

4)       Synonym - indicates both RBG Kew and Julian Shaw show the name as a synonym for another genus

5)       Syn(BB) - indicates my own best guess that the name is a synonym for another genus

6)       Error - indicates the name is an error

7)       ? - Status unclear

 

If the status of the name is unclear, the Acc/Syn column will indicate the source of the name or information about the name as follows:
